About Me

All about Ms. Gilbert
Welcome friends!  I am beyond excited to be your seventh and eighth grade Social Studies teacher at Bordentown Regional Middle School! This is my eleventh year in the Bordentown Regional School District.  For three years I served as the 4th and 5th grade Spanish teacher at MacFarland Intermediate School, K-5 English as a Second Language teacher at MacFarland Intermediate School and Clara Barton Elementary School, and 6-8th grade Gifted and Talented (ELPAT) teacher at BRMS.

I graduated from Rowan University in 2012 with a dual degree in Education and History.  I went onto receiving a graduate certificate in English as a Second Language from Stockton University.  I love learning and continued my passion for history and culture through participating in programs over the past few summers by the National Endowment for Humanities, Gilder Lehrman, and the National Archives.

I have lived in NJ all of my life - it's not so bad!  However, I love to travel! In college I studied abroad in Russia, but since I have visited places like Iceland, Chile, Sweden, Denmark, Costa Rica, and quite a bit of the U.S.  My current goal is to visit every U.S. capital city and visit the capitol building - so far I have visited 31. My other interests include geography, photography, vegetarian cooking and baking.  I'm also a yoga teacher!  Currently I am completing a M.A. in American History through Gilder Lehrman/Gettysburg College.

I look forward to meeting you, getting to know you more, and having a successful year!
