Geometry Prep Work - Summer

All students going into 9th grade either Geometry or Algebra II (honors or college prep) should consider spending some "rainy day" time over the summer reviewing concepts learned this year in Algebra I.  This work is not mandatory, just HIGHLY suggested.

Current BRHS teachers stated that the following four concepts need to be mastered prior to entering either Geometry or Algebra II next year.
1. Solving Equations - Students should be able to solve various types of equations (multi-step, variables on both sides, etc.).  This is something you can find materials on the internet by googling.  You will easily find videos, notes, and worksheets (most have answer keys to go along with them).  I will let you find these materials on your own, there are tons out there!

2. Multivariable/Literal Equations - Students should be able to solve for a variable and or a solution to the system.  Work and videos on this topic can be found below.

3. Factoring - Students should be able to factor polynomials in a variety of ways when... a=1, a is not = 1, factoring by grouping, and factoring special cases (perfect square trinomials and difference of two squares).  Work and videos on this topic can be found below.

4. Simplifying Radicals - Students should be able to simplify radicals and perform operations with radicals of varying degrees.  Work and videos on this topic can be found below.
