Welcome to LA with Ms. E!!

"Use your voice, even if it shakes"

I am VERY excited to be starting my 5th year here at BRMS this fall. I have loved getting to know this community and see students grow over the course of the school year as one of their teachers they will have from September to June. Please use this page to learn more about my classes (7th and 8th grade), my supply list, and helpful resources!

A little bit about my Language Arts class:
  • We're going to work together to help you strengthen your skills as independent readers and writers by finding texts and methods that work SPECIFICALLY for you!!
  • We're going to think about the ways that all of the skills and content we practice in LA have a connection to the world around us!
  • We're going to use TV shows, movies, music, art, and different forms of "literature" to redefine how you "read" and analyze different "texts"!!
  • We're going to think about and really dig into the power of interpretation!!
  • We're going to use your identities, interests, passions, ideas, and feedback to make your learning reflect you!

My MOST IMPORTANT expectations:
  • Extend kindness and respect to everyone and everything in our classroom (through your words and actions)!
  • Communicate with me!! If you're struggling with something (in or out of my class), excited about something, or need any sort of clarification / reassurance, just let me know so we can work together! I know there is more to you than being a student in Language Arts -- let me help you be the best version of you!
  • Keep an open mind and a willingness to give things a try!
