BRMS BANDS
MARCHING SCOTTIES
Our award-winning marching band is composed of woodwind, brass, percussion, and colorguard students in grades 7-12. We perform at all BRHS home football games and compete every weekend in the USBands circuit.
Our 2024 field show is "Paradise" where we travel through the beach, over a volcano, and into town for a party!
Join us for BANDEMONIUM, our home competition on 9/21 at noon! Details are on the attached flyer.

Concert Etiquette
This is an important topic which we will cover before all performances with the students and at the beginning of all performances with the audience. Good concert etiquette shows respect to the hours and hours of hard work that teachers and students have put into making the concert an enjoyable evening.

Anyone still interested in performing at 8th grade promotion on Wednesday should please fill out this form. We've been rehearsing and it sounds fabulous!
-
Students that wish to borrow their BRMS-owned instruments over the summer should pick up a summer loan contract from me at some point before next Wednesday. Otherwise, instruments can be left in their cubbies.
-
I have posted a lot of sheet music resources on the BAND google classroom that students can access any time over the summer. Practice makes permanent!

For anyone that is participating in marching band with me next year, please be sure to get those physicals and turn in the required health forms by July 29th. Any questions can go to the BRHS nurse Traci Redler. ([email protected])
-
Our dear BRMS nurse, Erica Grilletto, is also not staying in Bordentown. She's moving to Tennessee! She has always helped keep the band safe, whether it's sending me to Six Flags with 20 epi-pens, or checking every food label of snacks we bring in, or alerting Mrs. Redler about student needs when we go to BRHS. We will miss her thoroughness and deep concern for our well-being! [email protected] if you feel moved to drop her a line.

I play in a magnificent ensemble, the Eastern Wind Symphony, and our final concert of the season is coming up on Saturday, June 22nd at 7pm in Princeton. Our youth band opens the show, then we will present some of the most glorious music I've ever played. The centerpiece of our set is David Maslanka's Symphony No. 4, and I guarantee there will not be a dry eye in the room by the time it finishes. Please see the flyer below, and if you are unable to attend, I encourage you to check out our free livestream. It will be posted to our facebook and website the morning of the event. I truly cannot express how fantastic this concert is going to be, and to think- we all started with Hot Cross Buns!

- There is NO food or drink permitted in the PAC.
- All electronics should be silenced (not on vibrate) and dimmed.
- Take as many photos as you like, but please turn off the flash. The concert will be recorded and posted to the Google classroom, so we encourage you to stay in the moment and let the music move you.
- We encourage you to bring small children, but if they become fussy or noisy, please step into the hallway or lobby with them.
- Please do not interrupt the performance by leaving or entering during a song (unless it is to take care of a child, etc).
- Do not talk or whisper during performances as this is distracting to other audience members and the performers. Please express your enthusiastic support by applauding and cheering after a piece finishes. For jazz soloists, clap whenever you like what you hear!
