Syllabus/Parent Letter

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Hello! I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome you and your child to a new and exciting school year in Language Arts here at Bordentown Regional Middle School. We will be working hard this year to develop your child’s knowledge and skills in many areas of Literacy.

A little bit about me... I have been teaching for seventeen years, fourteen of those years have been right here at the middle school!  I primarily teach Language Arts and Social Studies, with an emphasis in the Resource Room environment.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree as well as a dual certification in Elementary and Special Education from Saint Joseph's University, and received my Master's Degree in Reading Education as well as my Reading Specialist certification from Rowan University.

Together, my husband Matt and I have five beautiful children, and a sweet rescued mutt named Pigeon.  I am looking forward to a wonderful year ahead with your children.

This year in Language Arts, we will focus heavily on literature, current events, formal pieces of writing, and making connections between class activities and real-world events.  My experience as a co-teacher of 7th grade Social Studies will also allow for cross-curricular assignments.

Our class rules align with the school code outlined in your child's planner.  I am very much looking forward to a positive year ahead.  Please utilize my contact information to ask any questions you may have at any point during the school year.  Open communication will allow us to facilitate a successful year for your child.

Thank you!!
