Congratulations to our 2017 team!  The Ravenous Readers placed 2nd at Doane Academy on May 24th.

If you're looking for some great award-winning reads, consider Battle of the Books!

Battle of the Books is a book club which meets during lunch on Thursdays from October til May.  If students wish to be on the competitive team, competing against other Burlington County schools, they must read at least 6 of the 15 books by January. The lists change every year. Students are encouraged to begin reading over the summer. New lists come out at the end of May each year for the following school year.

Our 6th grade team competed on Monday, March 13th, and placed 4/15 schools. Students have enjoyed reading from a list of 15 books, ranging in genres from Horror (Wait 'til Helen Comes) to Fantasy (Tale of Despereaux) and survival (Stranded).  Each student has a unique favorite, and least favorite, from the list. They have been practicing answering specific questions about the books for months in preparation.  Our team captain was Sucheth Midoddi, who read the most books, and our secretary was Victoria Wheeler, who memorized authors and titles, with the added job of writing each within 30 seconds.
