Strep throat is caused by a bacterial infection that can make your throat feel extremely sore and scratchy. If untreated, it can caused other medical complications.
Throat pain; difficulty swallowing; red, swollen tonsils, sometimes with white spots; tiny red spots on the roof of the mouth; fever, headache, rash, stomache and/or lack of appetite.
When to call doctor and stay home from school
If your child has any or all of these symptoms, contact your physician and your child should remain home from school to prevent spread of this infection to others. Your child may return to school when fever free for 24 hours and on antibiotics for 24 hours. Please provide an doctors note as well.
