Syllabus/Parent Letter

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Hello! I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome you and your child to a new and exciting school year in Language Arts here at Bordentown Regional Middle School. We will be working hard this year to develop your child’s knowledge and skills in many areas of Literacy.

As with any class, there are rules, norms, and expectations. Our discipline code is written in our academic planner for your convenience. I am a firm believer in positive reinforcement. I always reward effort, hard work, and compliance with the rules.   However, there unfortunately are times when rules are broken. Again, consequences for infractions of the code are listed in the academic planner.

That being said, I do not foresee any problems with my students this year, and I am looking forward to a successful and positive year. I subscribe to the idea that it “takes a village to raise a child.”   Your help is needed and appreciated, and with it we can ensure an academically and socially successful year for your child. Please do not hesitate to contact me at any time or for any reason. Thank you.

Thank you!!

Sincerely,

Carla M. Whitaker
