My name is Erica Grilletto and I am the school nurse at BRMS. On this page you will find a plethora of information!
Medication Administration
If your child requires and medication during the school day, you MUST have the proper medication administration order form filled out by his/her physician. That includes all prescription drugs and over-the-counter medications. Students are NOT permitted to carry any medications during school hours. The only exception is if the student is carrying an inhaler and Epi-pen (permission must be checked off on the proper form by their physician to carry these medications). All BRSD schools are permitted to administer both Tylenol and Ibuprofen to students with parental consent through Info Snap, so please leave these medications at home.
- Medication form must be filled out by the physician and signed by the parent/guardian. These forms are located under the "Health Office Forms" tab to the right of the page.
- Medication must be brought into the school by an adult. If it is a prescription medication, the medication must be brought in the original bottle/packaging with the pharmacy label on it.
Students with Asthma
If your student has asthma and will use an inhaler during school a NJ state mandated Asthma Action Plan will need to be completed. You may find the form under the "Health Office Forms" tab to the right of the page. Please make sure that both sides of the form are filled out completely by the parent/guardian and physician and return it to me as soon as possible. Students are permitted to self-carry and medicate as long as the physician has checked off on the proper form that they are capable to self administer and the form is on file in my office.
Students with Life -Threatening Allergies
If your student has life-threatening allergies and requires the use of an Epi-pen, please contact the health office so we can provide a safe learning environment for your child. If your child has been prescribed an Epi-pen for their allergy please have their physician fill out the Epi-pen administration order form located under the "Health Office Forms" tab to the right of the this page.
All medication administration forms are only good for one year. They will need to be renewed and sent in each school year.
